Call for Papers : 2025 Judith Woodsworth Lecture

8th edition of the keynote lecture for young researchers created by ACT-CATS in 2017 George Brown College, Toronto, 4-6 June 2025.


Deadline to submit a proposal : 15 january 2025


ACT-CATS, in association with TTR, is seeking proposals from graduate students conducting research in translation and interpreting studies to give a 40-minute lecture, followed by a 20-minute question period, at a plenary session. The lecture will be delivered during the 2025 ACT-CATS Unconference. A $500 grant will be given to the speaker as a contribution towards the cost of attending the conference. Note that students who have already submitted a proposal to the 2025 ACT-CATS Unconference may nonetheless submit a proposal to the Judith Woodsworth Lecture.

• Eligibility: Students enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program at a Canadian or international university, and whose research is related to translation and interpreting studies. Previous winners of the Judith Woodsworth Lecture cannot apply. • Language: English or French

• Date: The paper will be given during the 2025 ACT-CATS Unconference (4-6 June 2025)

• A 100 to 150-word text indicating the status of your research (at present and expected at the time of the Conference) The jury will be composed Valérie Florentin, Audrey Canalès, and Hélène Buzelin, respectively president, vice president and chair of the program committee of ACT-CATS.
